Can an air compressor (hose) cause air bubbles in blood vessels?
i was playing around with an air compressor, the part you use to fill up an automobile tire and i pushed my thumb on it, my father told me to stop because i could get air bubbles in my blood stream. i was doing it for about a good 2 minutes.. then i did i did it again. could it harm me now ??, this was about 5 hours ago. he said the air bubbles could go to your heart or brain and cause death. would it affect my thumb first before anything ??

The pressure would have to be high enough to cut through your skin and force air into an open blood vessel. Your blood pressure would also fight against the air from entering you. If this would happen, it would affect you right away, because the blood would travel to your heart’s arteries and give you a heart attack. You’re fine!

Blood runs in blood vessels, and unless you have an open wound, I can’t see how the air possibly gets into your blood stream…..
