I am currently undertaking some robotic projects that require the use of air rams for movement. I could not find a small enough compressor so i decided to build one out of a spent propane tank, a presure switch and the guts from a canadian tire tire inflator. Works great so far (after solving some oiling problems). Keep watching as things progress over the winter.
Testing the new compressor. The fill time to 100 was actually around 40 seconds which is incredible. The fill time to 125 was 1 minute! I will be running this unit along with a 4.5 gallon tank.
I could have done better at Home Depot. This one is loud, and the “25 foot” coil hose is annoying. The blow gun, and tire chuck have both been useful. It should handle the Central Pneumatic air hammer well enough. Eventually I will replace it with something that can handle an air impact wrench.
INFLATE RIGHT TM TECHNOLOGY – Inflator automatically stops when set pressure is reached. Just set your pressure, hit the on button and wit in your vehicle while the inflator does the rest. With Inflate Right TM there is no chance for error, just perfect pressure every time. More information at slime.com
A review of the SuperFlow HV-35 High Volume Air Compressor. A neat little device that I picked up from Farm & Fleet for less than dollars. It can inflate a passenger tire in under 1.5 minutes.
