I am looking to buy an air compressor for my dad for Christmas. We have an 80gal in the garage now for the big projects but it takes a while to charge up and obviously is not so portable. I am looking at two compressors, one that is 1.5gal @ 150PSI and the other is 3gal @ 100PSI.

Which is better?

Which one would run an impact gun longer?

(I know either one is not great for removing lugs on a car, but if we only need to change a tire or something it a pain to charge the big one.)
OK, maybe i need to clarify a bit.

I am going to buy one of these compressors. I know neither one is good for an impact gun. If you had to choose ONE OF THESE, which one? 3gal & 100psi OR 1.5gal & 150psi.

I have done some brief research on air compressors as I would like to buy one for my husband for Christmas, but there are more options than I thought and my remaining shopping time is quickly depleting. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! I think he would be using it to for his power tools, blowing up tires/balls/etc. and possibly blowing out sprinklers, but I want to get one that will ‘grow’ with him. From my research, I think I would want a 15 or 20 gallon tank with 8 or 9 CFM and would want it to be portable (wheels). Electric is fine. I went to Home Depot today hoping to get some help, but they didn’t have much of a selection and I was directed just to either the Husky (VLH1582609.01) 26 gallon vertical with 6 tools for 9 or the DeWalt (model #D55168) 15 gallon for 9. Any thoughts on these? I’m not opposed to ordering the ‘right/best’ one online and just wrapping up a picture. Thank you!!!

I want to get one as cheap as possible but one that works good.

Want to give my son an air compressor for Christmas but I don’t want to buy junk. What would be a good one to buy?

I’m looking at buying one for my hubby for Christmas and wanted to know the best kind/size/model and why. He would be using pneumatic tools (wrench, nail gun, etc) and general automotive/construction/repair uses. What is the price range on something like this? Thank you for your help!
